Intel Unveils Its Highest Performing Client SSD

Intel today announced the unveiling of a new Solid State Drive series, SSD 750 series and SSD 535 series. The US semiconductor giant announced the launch of these two new series of solid state drives for use in client PC storage devices and workstations.

The Intel SSD 750 series delivers 4 times the performance of the regular SATA based SSDs. Intel has achieved this by employing four PCIe 3.0 lanes and the NVMe standard. For those who have an a PCIe 3.0 slot accessible, these two SSDs will work great. For those who don’t, Intel will be also offering them in the standard 2.5 inch form factor, making sure to cover as many users as possible.

The Intel SSD 750 series will be available in two storage capacities – 400 GB and 1.2 TB. Intel is promising sequential read and write speeds of up to 2200 MB/s and 900 MB/s respectively for the 400 GB version. For the 1.2 TB version, the company promises to deliver sequential read and write speeds of up to 2400 MB/s and 1200 MB/s respectively.

The Intel SSD 750 series is available for a price of $488 for the 400 GB version from Intel on Amazon.com. The 1.2 TB version costs $1243.
