Lenovo YogaBook C930 removed keyboard for e-ink

Lenovo YogaBook C930 is one of those rare and unique breed of laptops that does not come with a physical keyboard keys. Yes, this one comes with a large e-ink display instead of a physical keyboard. You can use it as a keyboard, touchpad and to write using Lenovo Pen. Announced at IFA in Berlin, the Yoga C930 starts at €1499 (VAT included). C930 is expected to be available starting September on www.lenovo.com and select retailers.

Let us talk about the e-ink screen first. Last year’s variant came with a Halo keyboard that was kind of half baked. You can read about that here. This year, lenovo went with e-ink display, resulting in better battery life. The Yoga Book C930 lets you take notes, as well as draw and capture all your thoughts using the Precision Pen.

Precision Pen is a premium Bluetooth® pen that senses 4,096 pressure levels to capture the finest detail with pinpoint accuracy. For more convenient pen usage, Lenovo integrated a Garaged Pen with charging capability directly into the Yoga C930’s chassis.

“An often-overlooked element of this experience is actually having the pen when you need it, instead of having to go find or even remembering to bring it.”

Lenovo Yoga C930 comes with up to 4K resolution 13.9″ display with Dolby Vision support. The upgraded watchband style hinge now comes with built in speakers. This helps when one uses in different modes (tablet mode, notebook mode, tent mode etc) and sound is always directed towards the user.

This was achieved, thanks to an extruded aluminum hinge bar with laser drilled holes placed across the polished surfaces. The Rotating Sound Bar experience was carefully crafted in close collaboration with the team at Dolby.

This collaboration helped Lenovo incorporate custom designed tweeters to maximize the sound quality. The onboard software optimizes the tuning as the user changes the Yoga C930’s orientations to ensure a superior audio experience in every usage mode.
