LG announce AKA fun oriented smart phone running Android
LG Electronics today announced rollout of its fun oriented AKA smartphone. The phone will be first released in Hong Kong next week and then will head to China, Taiwan, Singapore and Turkey and we can expect LG to release in phone in more markets based on how it does in these markets. AKA will be available in four versions that signify different personas. Eggy in yellow, Wooky in white, Soul in navy and Yo-Yo in pink.
LG says that Eggy is for one who falls frequently in love, Wooky is for soft-hearted, Soul is for music lvoer and Yo-Yo is for those who are always on a diet. If you are thinking “what!!!”, don’t ask us, we ain’t the one that named these phones and we certainly didnt give them personas. All these phones come with interactive animated eyes and owners can further personalize them with stickers, markers or paint. Users can even add customizable glasses and eyebrows for each pair of eyes. Art Toy figurine is another UX feature that can be digitized and integrated into the user experience. Take a photo of the figurine with AKA’s snapshot tool and it created an animated 3D version of the figure that appears along side selfies.
AKA is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core CPU and has a 5” 720p HD IPS panel display. There is 16GB of onboard storage and 1.5GB of RAM is available for CPU for number crunching. The rear camera has 8mp sensor while front facing camera has a 1.2mp sensor.
