MediaTek announce Helio P20 chipset
MediaTek Helio P20 is the new chipset, designed for those who want their phone to be power efficient and powerful. The Helio P20 comes with octa core CPU which can be clocked up to 2.3GHz, based on ARM Cortex A53 architecture and Mali T880 MP2 GPU, clocked at 900MHz. Device makers can opt to use up to 6GB of LPDDR4 1600MHz RAM or up to 4GB of LP DDR3 933MHz RAM. Thanks to the 16nm fabrication and newer generatin CPU/GPU, the Helio P20 is 25% more power efficient when compared to Helio P10.
Coming to 4G LTE, Helio P20 comes with LTE Cat.6 modem and will support up to 300Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink, 2×20 carrier aggreggation. As expected, Dual SIM with Dual Standby support is built in. When coupled with LGPDDR4X memory, deivce makers can make use of real-time video face detection for enhanced security and for better user experience.
Helio P20 can handle up to two FullHD resolution displays at 60fps. Coming to cameras, device makers can couple a 24mp single camera or a 13mp+13mp dual camera setup and make use of MediaTek Imagiq 12bit ISP for great image quality. Helio P20 supports up to 4K 30fps video recording.
