Micromax announce Canvas 5 Android smartphone

The Canvas series of Android smartphone from Micromax is one of their best selling lineup. This week, Micromax has taken the wraps off of Canvas 5, the successor to Canvas 4. Micromax Canvas 5 is powered by a MediaTek MTK6753 chip and comes with a 5.2” FullHD display. Priced at Rs.11,999/- the phone comes with 5.1 Lollipop variant of Android at launch.

3GB of RAM feeds data to the 1.3GHz Octa Core cpu and there is 16GB of onboard storage. Users can further increase the storage using microSD card. As usual, there are two SIM card slots and support 4G LTE network connectivity. There is a Samsung 13mp camera at the back and a 5mp camera at the front.

Other specifications include 2900mAh (275 hours standby, 10 hours talk time), metal frame.
