Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner in India for Rs 17999
Xiaomi has launched a Vacuum cleaner in India as a part of their Home Ecosystem of products. The vacuum cleaner is already available in China as model number STYJ02YM. This is a Vacuum cleaner made by Xiaomi Mijia in collaboration with VIOMI in which Xioami has invested. The model is similar to Viomi V2 and the parts are interchangeable. In India, this model is called Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P. It is priced at Rs 17999 and available to purchase from Mi.com.
This is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum cleaner as it can do both wet and dry mopping. It is a smart home product and it can connect with the Mi Home app for various controls and configurations. It is guided by a laser mounted on top of the circular disc-like glossy vacuum cleaner. The laser on top helps it to guide indoors. It also has additional sensors on the bottom to detect dust or dirt to clean. It has a step detector which prevents it from falling off stairs. It has about 12 different sensors. It has a transparent dust bin to collect the dust. The underbelly shows you 2 wheels for maneuvering and a spinning side brush for cleaning. The suction powered rotating brush pulls the dust into the dust bin. In the wet mop mode, you can fit it with a cloth provided in the box and clean the surface. It can clean different types of surfaces like Carpet, Tile, Marble Floor or cement floors.
The Mi Home App helps in controlling and monitoring the Vacuum cleaner. One can schedule cleaning and also monitor the status of the cleaner, like a battery, clean area etc…
The pricing of the product in India is brilliant. The market leaders in robot vacuum cleaners are iRobot and their Series 600 Romba 606 is priced at Rs 20k. This model does not connect to WiFi or any smart app. Also iRobot cleaner are not 2-in-1 cleaners. You need to buy wet and dry cleaners separately, even in their top end products.
As an introductory offer on their crowd-funding platform, Xiaomi India has launched the Mi Vacuum cleaner for Rs 17999. You can go and buy it now, but it won’t ship under later half of 2020, i.e, Sep 2020, which is not a good news. After the crowd funding period, the device will be priced at Rs 24999.
