Announcing this new plan offering, Srinivasan Gopalan, Director – Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel (India & South Asia) said:

“Flexibility is the core of our postpaid proposition, with Airtel myPlan offering infinite choices to the customers to create their own mobile plans. Now with ‘Prepaid on Postpaid’, we are offering enhanced flexibility to our corporate customers while simplifying their data experience. We have received extremely positive response to this product.”

How Airtel Prepaid on Postpaid Works

  • Any customers on a Airtel corporate plan can do a simple prepaid data recharge on his/her number and start using data.
  • This prepaid recharge can be done from any prepaid retail channel, online or on his/her mobile phone.
  • Customer will pay for his/her Prepaid data recharge and it will not be part of the Postpaid bill.
  • The standard prepaid data recharges start from Rs. 99
  • There is no hassle of changing SIMs or maintaining two mobile devices.

Note that this Airtel Prepaid On Postpaid offering is exclusively for data packs. If you run out of your data allowance on your corporate plan, you can go ahead and get a Prepaid data pack recharged on your number. With this offering, you can remain within your corporate data allowance limits; any usage over and above your data allowance can be done with your prepaid data recharge. Instead of carrying multiple phones or SIM cards, you can use the same number to carry on with your internet usage.

Airtel further announced that you will be able to make these recharges via any channel – offline, online via Airtel’s website or any other third party recharge website. However, Airtel has not revealed the exact denominations applicable for its Prepaid on Postpaid plan. We have reached out to Airtel for a clarification and will update you when we hear back.
