Google announce Material Design Lite for web sites

Google has announced new Material Design Lite, a new design language (based on Android’s material design) to bring the famed Material Design to websites using vanilla CSS, HTML and JavaScript. Head to getmdl.io to access library of components & templates in vanilla CSS, HTML and JS. Websites that are heavy on content will be optimized by MDL and these include marketing pages, text articles, blogs etc. Google has built templates for a wide range of web sites and these templates can be downloaded from the MDL website.

MDL will wok on all modern web browsers including Microsoft Edge and when the same website is opened in older browsers, MDL downgrades to CSS-only content.
