Oneplus 8 Series – India Pricing – Shock laga!

Oneplus 8 and Oneplus 8 pro has been launched in India. After their global launch last week, the India price has now been officially announced. While we expected the Oneplus 8 to breach the 45k price tag and the Oneplus 8 pro to breach the 60-70k price barrier, Oneplus surprised everyone with its aggressive pricing. Here is the official launch price of the Oneplus 8 series mobiles in India.

OnePlus 8

• 6GB + 128GB: Rs 41,999
• 8GB + 128GB: Rs 44,999
• 12GB + 256GB: Rs 49,999

OnePlus 8 Pro

• 8GB + 128GB: Rs 54,999
• 12GB + 256GB: Rs 59,999

In the US, OnePlus 8 Pro with 8GB RAM+128GB is priced at $899, while the
12GB RAM+256GB is $999. OnePlus 8 starts with the 8GB RAM+128GB variant at $699 and the top OnePlus 8 variant 12GB RAM+256GB is $799. The Glacial Green color is available only for the 8 GB pro variant.

It is a totally different story in India. India is the primary market for Oneplus and they are the No 1 premium mobile market shareholders in this country. So OnePlus decided to price the mobiles aggressively in India. The glacial green color is also available across all variants. Like in the US, the Ultramarine Blue is available only on the top-end OnePlus 8 Pro variant. The base variant of Oneplus 8 is available only on Amazon but the other variants will be available across all the usual online and offline channels.

Oneplus Z Wireless earphones are also priced in India for Rs 1999 while in US, it would cost you $49.

The price of the Oneplus 8 Series in India is a pleasant shock, but not totally unexpected. Oneplus has also played a psychological card here by introducing the 6 GB base variant of Oneplus 8. If you see the trend of pricing, you will notice that Oneplus has been gradually increasing its price in India. They are now a true flagship mobile. Apart from the processor, 5G and color variants, the Oneplus 7T could still be a better value for money compared to Oneplus 8, if you are looking for an entry-level flagship mobile. But the Oneplus 8 Pro is the real deal here. At Rs 54999, even the base variant has a lot to offer like IP Rating and wireless charging. I absolutely dig the new glacial green color.
