Toshiba announce new S series models with 4K resolution touch display

Toshiba has announced that the Satellite S series performance lineup will be getting hardware refresh and will include 4K Ultra HD displays, powerful graphics from Nvidia, up to 2TB of HDD storage and more. The new models will come with Windows 8.1 preloaded but will be upgraded to Windows 10. The new models will comes with a starting price of $719.99 for 15.6” model and $874.99 for 17.3” model.

With the option of a 4K Ultra HD (3840×2160) IPS display, Full HD 1080p (1920×1080) or HD+ (1600×900) TruBrite multi-touch display, the Satellite S Series provides text clarity, better browsing, a bigger workspace and precision video and photo editing. A built-in DVD SuperMulti drive allows users to play music or watch the latest DVD movies.

Satellite S series will get a dedicated Cortana key for easy access to Microsoft’s personal digital assistant and also has a TruTalk dual-array microphones for crystal clear speech input. Toshiba has added Harman Kardon stereo speakers with DTS sound plus tech for superior multimedia capabilities. Coming to key hardware, Satellite S series will be powered by 5th generation Intel Core CPUs and up to 16GB of memory can be added. Users can opt for Nvidia dedicated graphics cards, up to 2TB of hard drive space. The built in HDMI port will support 4K video output. While 15.6” includes three USB 3.0 ports, 17.3” model will also have two USB 2.0 ports.
