Also, do not miss our “Recommended Smartphones” list that contains the best smartphones for every budget.

Activate Find My Device

  • Open Settings application.
  • Go to More settings > Security & Privacy. (More settings is optional on some phones).
  • Tap on Security.
  • Go to Device Manager.
  • Activate Find My Device.

Track your phone

Do note that for this to work, your phone should be powered on, connected to internet and GPS should be on.

  • Go to https://www.google.com/android/find and sign in to your Google Account. This is essential as Find My Phone is Android feature and you can track using your Google account.
  • Click on ‘Find my device’.
  • You will see where you phone is on a Google Map.
  • If your phone is turned off, you will see last known location of your phone.
  • If your phone is reachable to Google Find My Phone, you can do any of these actions:
    • Ring phone at full volume for 5 minutes (even when it is silent or in DND mode).
    • Lock your phone with PIN or pattern or password.
    • Add message or phone number to lock screen so that those who found your phone can contact you.
    • Do a full factory reset and data removal.

Hi there! Great post.
My sister’s Vivo phone was lost few months ago and we bought a new Samsung phone. At that time I guess I could use this feature. But, unfortunately, I wasn’t aware of this feature.
Thank you for providing how to enable tracking features so that we can find a lost Vivo phone.
