Wolfson will be primary audio partner for Samsung Galaxy devices

Samsung has used Wolfson audio chips in Galaxy S3, Note2 and Note 10.1 and If you have tried audio output on these, you would know how clean and brilliant the audio quality is. The good news now is that Samsung has made Wolfson as the primary audio partner for Galaxy smartphones. This means that we can expect similarly brilliant audio quality in Galaxy devices down the line.

As per the deal, Samsung will get a multiple year IP Licensing and component supplies from Wolfson. While the details of the deal is not fully revealed yet, this should boost Wolfson’s revenue big time as they will be part of the largest Android device chain.

Mike Hickey, CEO of Wolfson, said: “This is a significant milestone for Wolfson, and we are delighted to be making this announcement. Having worked closely with Samsung over recent years on their GALAXY range of tablets and smartphones, this agreement is a testament to our strong IP portfolio and our growing partnership, and we very much look forward to working closely together to continue to deliver exceptional audio in Samsung’s smartphones and tablets.”
