Acer expands Chromebook lineup with 15.6 inch C910 and 11.6″ C740
Today, Acer has announced expansion of its Chromebook lineup with Acer Chromebook C910 an Acer Chromebook C740 notebooks. With 40% marketshare in Chromebook market, Acer will be looking to expand the marketshare with the release of these two Chromebooks. C910 will be released in February and will have a starting price of $299.99 while C7140 will have a starting price of $259.99. Acer is planning to release the Chromebooks in USA first and follow up with release in other regions.

Also, schools can deploy and manage these new platforms cost-effectively, quickly and securely, so the emphasis stays on student success.”
ACer C910 has a 15.6” FullHD display while C740 comes with a smaller 11.6” display with 720p HD resolution. Both the panels have anti-glare coating to reduce eye strain. Both the chromebooks come with durable covers that can withstand unto 60kg of force and the corners can withstand 45 cm drops without any damage. The metal hinges that hold the display to the base are made of metal and can withstand hard use. Both the chrome books are powered by 5th generation Intel Core i3-5005U ultra low voltage processor or Intel Celeron 3205U processor. While C740 offers up to 9 hours of battery life, C910 will provide up to 8 hours of battery life. Paired with SSDs, these Chromebooks offer exception performance and this coupled with superb keyboard makes every day computing a breeze. HD webcam is built-in for video chats and hangouts. The Acer C910 weighs only 2.2kg (4.85 pounds) and measures only 393w x 256d x 24.2h mm (15.4w x 10.08d x 0.95h inches). The Acer C740 weighs only 1.3kg (2.87 pounds) and measures 288w x 204d x 20.05h mm (11.34w x 8.03d x 0.79h inches). C910 and C740 has Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port and a HDMI port. There is a SD card reader built-in to expand storage.
