The competition in the entry level is relentless and in this vicious cycle, new competitive phones are being launched every day. Indian smartphone vendor Intex today announced the launch of the Aqua Star II HD, for a price of INR 6,590. It succeeds the Aqua Star II smartphone, launched by the company in February this year.

“Through this new launch we aim to define our purpose of unleashing an economically attractive and technologically luring smartphone in the market. Our latest offering – the Aqua Star II HD – is available at an amazing price point. We are delighted to offer such an outstanding product and hope to continue this in the coming future,” said Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies.

The Intex Aqua Star II HD comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat, a 5 inch IPS LCD display of 720p HD resolution, an unspecified Mediatek quad core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage expandable with a microSD card. Intex has also included an 8 MP camera and an LED flash on the back, with a front facing 5 MP camera. As is normal these days, there is dual SIM support. A 2000 mAh battery powers this phone.
