Meizu M3X Launched – 5.5 inch 1080p Display, Helio P20 In Tow

Meizu has launched another smartphone in its home country China today. The Meizu M3X, a budget offering from the company, comes after the announcement of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus, the company’s new flagship smartphone. The Meizu M3X is a much more affordable smartphone and comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display and a Helio P20 processor.

Meizu M3X Specifications

The Meizu M3X features a 5.5 inch Full HD LCD display, resulting in a pixel density of ~401 PPI. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the latest version of Flyme OS on top. The phone features a ceramic design with a glass back, and comes in four colours.

The device comes with an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor, featuring eight cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and built on a 16nm processor. The graphics are handled by a Mali-T880 GPU. The M3X comes in two variants – 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage.

In terms of camera, the M3X comes with a 12 MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, dual tone LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus and 4K video recording support. On the front you get a 5 MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Other features of the Pro 6 Plus include a mTouch2.1 fingerprint sensor on the home button in the front.

Connectivity features include dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type C reversible connector. The phone is powered by a 3200 mAh battery and comes with mTouch 3.0 fast charging support.

Pricing And Availability

The Meizu M3X has been priced at CNY 1699 for the 3 GB RAM/ 32 GB storage version, approx Rs. 16900 or $247. The 4 GB RAM/ 64 GB storage version of the phone has been priced at CNY 1999, approx Rs. 19900 or $290. The phone will be available in Pearl White, Phantom Blue, Gold and Obsidian Black color options. Meizu has started accepting orders for the device, and it will go on sale in China on December 8. Wider availability details are not known yet.
