Xiaomi Mi Store launching on May 18 in US, UK, France and Germany

Xiaomi is beginning to enter the Western markets this month. The top OEM in China has announced that its Mi Store will be launching in four new countries – US, UK, France and Germany on May 18th, although its phones won’t be available for purchase just yet.

The launch of its store in these Western markets hints at Xiaomi’s intentions to grow beyond the developing markets in the Asian region. With extremely cut throat competition in these markets, the company will be able to sell more freely in markets where the competition is not as severe as in the Asian region.

While the launch of the Mi Store is exciting for both the company and its potential customers, Xiaomi won’t be selling phones, tablets or its TV just yet. At launch, the following products will be available for purchase:

  • Mi Band fitness tracker for $15
  • Mi Headphones for $80
  • 5,000 mAh Mi Power Bank for $10
  • 10,400 mAh Mi Power Bank for $14

Xiaomi has been running flash sales in US, UK, France and Germany in preparation for its launch. After the launch, XIaomi will ship the aforementioned products in the four countries from China. Shipping and taxes/duties will be charged extra, as they may apply.
